Bliss is back with their unique blend of cinematic chill out.
Having just signed a contract with fashion label DKNY, and still reveling in the success of the track Kissing, which featured prominently in Sex & The City – The Movie (4 million copies sold worldwide), Danish electronic duo, Steffen Aaskoven (one of the original creators of Café Del Mar) and Marc-George Andersen insist on making the impossible come to fruition. It started as an almost impossible idea – the potential that DJ/producers Bliss could succeed in convincing Boy George, the former lead singer of Culture Club to feature on the new Bliss album. But alas, their fourth studio album contains the track American Heart which Boy George composed together with Bliss, and features on lead vocals.
In addition to legendary ‘80s icon Boy George, Bliss garnered collaborations with cinematic songstress Lisbeth Scott (Schindler’s list, Munich, The Passion of the Christ) and Norwegian singer/songwriter Ane Bruhn to the fold. The duo also welcomed back longtime friend Sophie Barker (Zero 7), who featured prominently on their 2003 release, ’Quiet Letters’. Whilst Carlos Santana has recently requested to use one of their tracks, Bliss’ tunes have made it onto C.S.I (the worlds most popular crime show) as well as featuring on over 300 compilations worldwide (Buddha Bar, Hotel Costes).
